R6 - Rollo’s 6HOUR Adventure Race – 4th September 2010

URBAN NELSON – 2010

As the song goes, “you can’t always get what you want, but you get what you need”, but you will need to get them all if you want to win the Rollo’s 6HOUR Adventure Race.

The Rollo’s 6HOUR format is “Go and Get”. All the checkpoints and out of bounds areas are given to teams 45 minutes before the start of the race. Then together as a 2, 3 or 4 person team they will be required to reach the checkpoints by either kayak, mountain bike or by foot.

They can collect them in anyway they can and in any order they choose, however they must get them all. The quickest team to get them allwins.

The race options again include the Adventure Race and the Adventure Duathlon for those who choose not to kayak and if you are not going to be a contender then with the “Go and Get” format you can choose your own race within the given checkpoints. This makes the event an ideal entry level adventure racing experience for the first times and for the contenders it adds strategy to their route and course selection.

The race will be based from Down Town Nelson and you can race from the boot of your car eliminating the need for a crew.

From here all teams will get a taste of kayaking, orienteering, running & mountain biking across, around and in Urban Nelson and the  City’s Green Fringe and beyond.

No matter what level you compete at the Rollo’s 6HOUR is all about enjoying the experience and the involvement of you and your team mate or mates (if you are lucky enough to have more than one) competing in an adventure race.

Early Bird entry fee of $60.00 per person will apply only until the 23rd July 2010 and then it will increase to $75.00 per person from the 24th July 2010. After the 23rd August the entry fee leaps up to $100.00 per person. Numbers will be limited and It will be on a first in first serve process.

I look forward to seeing you and your team at the Central Nelson Start – Line of this years Rollo’s 6HOUR Adventure Race.
