Welcome to the Adventure Nelson web site, it is a live site that has set the benchmark for others to follow. Its updated all the time and the news page will be updated and sent out to those on the email list every week with all the up to date news that I know of, along with items for sale in the Sheriff’s Secondhand Shop.

 

Adventure Nelson is the home of Adventure Racing and Multisport events in the Nelson -  Tasman area with its range of proven events that I created and have been around for along time.

So whats being worked on at Adventure Nelson? well I have a few things bubbling away in the back ground. I’ve been to Rarotonga during 2011 seeing if a plan I have had for a while can work, I think it can, however there are a few technical issues to be sorted, however I wanted to gauge interest from those interested early in 2012.

Well I had a plan for Rarotonga, well that was before I got a call asking me about running an event in NIUE and I wanted the experience and I am now working on the Rockman Triathlon of Niue, which is going to be a fun week, yep it’s a week as the plane only comes in once a week.  This has meant that my new 12HOUR concept will stay on the shelf, but some of this concept will be on offer at the Rollo’s 6HOUR.

My Long Distance Triathlon and Multisport race where swimmers and kayakers will face off to be the ulimate champion should appear in 2013. There can only be one.

I have created all the events on the Adventure Nelson menu and there are more in the pipe-line that will evolve as others drop away. As an event organiser I believe that you need to be able to line up at the start-line, to know what works and what doesn’t. Because of this you would have and will still see me at events from Sprint Triathlons to Ironman events, Rogaines to Orienteering events, Kayak races to Multisport events and many more  getting a feel for the heart beat of Adventure. This in-site allows me to know what many Adventure Nelson Competitor will be thinking in those moments before the starting gun goes off.

Whats planned for 2012

The 12th Rollo’s Nelson Adventure Race. 2012 will see the race start from far far away and finish in Nelson. The event will be the weekend of 1st & 2nd December 2012, bringing it to the summer. Watch this spot

The 9th Rollo’s 3&6HOUR Adventure Race will be again held in Nelson on the 1st September and out of the boot of your car andyou will again head into the great beyond.  This will be limited to 75 teams and is likely to sell out quickly. Entries will open in April 2012

The 15th Fresh Choice Nelson City Musselman will be held again in October in 2012, the race date is Sunday 28th October2012. But thats a long time away isn’t it.

The Rockman (International) Triathlon of Niue – 3rd to 9th November 2012. So pack your passport, mountain bike, swim googles, running shoes, sunscreen and some beer money and the wish to have an adventure and some fun.
