The news page is updated every couple of weeks, as news arrives on the desk. This is sent out to those on the email list with all the up to date news that I know of, along with items for sale in the Sheriff’s Second hand Shop.

Adventure Nelson has been the home of Adventure Racing and Multisport events in the Nelson -  Tasman area for the last 16 years with its range of proven events that I created and these have been around for along time.

Time…. yes I have been around a long time, and have been attending and racing in events for over 20 years and as my life has changed so has my passions and direction. My life has never been busier and trying to fit it all in has become very hard almost a core ( man I hate that word) and I have arrive at the conclusion that I need to look after myself first.

Hence I have decided that 2013 will be a year of change for Adventure Nelson and the events that I have created and the plan is to create a final finish line with my involvement.

Up first in 2013 will be the 12th - Rollo’s Nelson Adventure Race – The Journey Home, starting from Anakiwa and finishing in Nelson. This full (24Hour), 1/2 (12Hour) and the new 8 Hour race will start on the 4th May and will have a Duathlon option (or plan B should you be unable to Kayak) The web page is under events tab above.

7th September is the race date for the 10th running of the  popular Rollo’s 3&6 HOUR  Adventure Race here in Nelson.

6th October will see the 16th edition of the Migym Musselman, Picton to Nelson Mutlisport race.

During the first week in November Rockman2 happens in Niue. Details are also on the tab above.

I have created all the events on the Adventure Nelson menu and there are more in the pipe-line that will evolve as others drop away. As an event organiser I believe that you need to be able to line up at the start-line, to know what works and what doesn’t. Because of this you would have and will still see me at events from Sprint Triathlons to Ironman events, Rogaines to Orienteering events, Kayak races to Multisport events and many more  getting a feel for the heart beat of Adventure. This in-site allows me to know what many Adventure Nelson Competitor will be thinking in those moments before the starting gun goes off.

2013 Adventure Nelson Race Calender 

The 12th Rollo’s Nelson Adventure Race  - The Journey Home  will be held on the 4th & 5th May 2013.  Entries will open on the 15th February.

The 10th Rollo’s 3&6HOUR Adventure Race will be again held in Nelson on the 7th September and out of the boot of your car and you will again head into the great beyond.  This will be limited to 75 teams and is likely to sell out quickly. Entries will open in June 2013

The 16th The Migym Musselman will be held again in October in 2013, the race date is Sunday 6th October 2013. But that’s a long time away isn’t it? Enteries will open on the 1st of August.

The Rockman2 (International) Triathlon of Niue - 3rd to 9th November 2013. So pack your passport, mountain bike, swim googles, running shoes, sunscreen and some beer money and the wish to have an adventure and some fun.
